Showdown at Sunrise
A downloadable game
Two warriors stand across from one another. Ready to draw weapons to reclaim honour after a dark incident in their past has been revealed to the world. We don’t know why they are locked in a deadly duel, but all is about to be revealed.
This is a game for a pair of players without a narrator or GM. Locked in battle they take turns trying to strike down their adversary as they gradually reveal their backstories. Throughout the course of play they make decisions about whether to strike often, or reveal their stories and their special abilities for more powerful attacks later.
Unlike many of the previous games in the Tri-Fold series, this one is comprised of five different tri-folds, each describing a warrior prepared to reclaim their honour, or die trying. Each of the players chooses a single tri-fold and fills in details on it as they work their way through the story. The entire game uses a range of tokens (but could just as easily use cards, with an extra page added to the full set of rules to describe how that might be done). The Tri-Fold Manifesto belief that a game can be self-contained on a single tri-fold is pushed a bit here. But no more so than the first game in the series. This time each player has their own tri-fold and there is no extra set of rues for a person running the game.
